In person + online EMDR consultation in Santa Barbara

READY TO UP-LEVEL YOUR EMDR PRACTICE?

EMDR Consultation in Santa Barbara & across the globe!

I am an EMDRIA Certified EMDR Therapist and an EMDRIA approved Consultant-in-Training. I have the privilege of training with EMDR master, Deany Laliotis of The Center for Excellence in EMDR Therapy. She is a leader in the field and worked directly with EMDR founder Dr. Francine Shapiro.

My training includes using EMDR as an integrative psychotherapy, which goes beyond using it as a protocol or technique. This model is inclusive of other modalities to address the unique needs of each person as well as to create true change vs. provide symptom relief.

I focus on treating complex developmental trauma and attachment wounds and believe that the therapeutic relationship is a foundation of change and makes healing possible.

I am a life-long learner and am passionate about sharing the incredible benefits of EMDR therapy as well as supporting others in their learning journey. At the Center we are all in ongoing consultation as well as use EMDR for our own personal therapy, both of which deepen our understanding and application of the work.

ABOUT ME

WHY USE CONSULTATION?

In my role as a consultant, I support other therapists to develop their skills as an EMDR therapist and to build confidence in it’s application with clients. This process is collaborative and strength-based. Consultation is incredibly beneficial for the array of complexities that can emerge in EMDR therapy and reprocessing. It’s easy to feel stuck or unsure how to address barriers or improve generalization effects in our EMDR work and consultation is both a great way to continue learning and is required for those looking to earn certification by EMDRIA.

Areas of growth may include:

  • Develop an understanding of using EMDR as a psychotherapy

  • Deepen understanding of case conceptualization from an AIP (adaptive information processing) perspective to support reprocessing success

  • Improve treatment planning and collaboration with your client

  • Explore cultural variables that may impact treatment planning

  • Broaden understanding of clinical choice points and when to modify the standard protocol to meet the needs of specific clients

  • Understand adaptations through the lens of complex developmental trauma

  • Better understanding of how to address blocks in reprocessing

EMDR is a powerful therapy for true healing that aligns with your body’s innate wisdom and ability to heal itself.

  • You must have completed an EMDRIA approved Basic Training, parts 1 & 2.

  • You must have a clinical license in good standing

  • You must be open and willing to learn and receive feedback

  • A commitment to be accountable for the impact of your words and actions

  • An eagerness to learn more about EMDR as a psychotherapy

  • A willingness to be self-reflective of how implicit bias arises in your work

CONSULTATION IS FOR:

EMDR therapists ready and open to learning and want to take their practice to the next level.

Consultation Options

  • A 1-hour meeting is utilized to review a case in-depth via case conceptualization form or written transcript. Preparation time is required.

  • Groups typically include 3-4 individuals, meeting once per month over a 5-week rotation. Each month one member presents a case for all to learn from. Additional time is used for general case questions. This is a great way to expand learning and create collaboration with colleagues. Current group days/times pending.

All individual consultation hours will need to be earned by setting up separate individual consultation meetings with a consultant of your choice.
